SPECTROPHOTOMETERS

Archroma Global Services,a division of Clariant, has recently signed an agreement with the Instrument Systems Division of Konica Minolta Photo Imaging U.S.A. Inc. to supply the company's new CM-3220d spectro-photometer for the Archroma MatchWizard Color Matching and Color Quality Control System.

According to marketing director Bill Sherrill, the CM-3220d is signifi¬cantly more convenient than other models. It doesn't require significant training. "Anyone who makes, matches, communicates, or evaluates color can use this device with just a few minutes training. No long, time-consuming courses, no complex, frus¬trating technology, and no huge ma¬chine dominating space in labs or on desktops," said Sherrill.

X-Rite's Sphere (SP) series spec¬trophotometers feature fast, precise, and accurate color measurement on various textile surfaces. The (SP) series provides simultaneous measure¬ment of both specular-included (color) and specular-excluded (appearance) measurement.

X-Rite also recently introduced the 8000 series benchtop spectrophotometer, designed to complement the company's portable industrial color control solutions. According to the company, it has excellent inter-instru-ment agreement and repeatability. The 8000 series features Spectra-Lon, a highly durable solid material used to create the integrating sphere. Spectra-Lon does not require replacement, as do the traditional coatings typically found in these types of instruments. The prod¬uct also features a digital camera that provides a direct view of the sample. A large transmission port and the ability to rotate the instrument allow for easier measurement of both transparent and opaque liquids, textile dyes, and other materials, according to X-Rite.
