PFG was purchased by management from Burlington Industries in 1988 and has operated as a privately owned company since then. Today PFG employs approximately 900 people and operates plants in North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee. The company develops, manufactures and sells highly engineered fabrics. For example, PFG fabrics help the electronic, communication and computer industries comply with US limitations on electro-magnetic interference. A gasket made with PFG fine-denier fabric can prevent the interference that occurs between different electronic devices, such as computers, testing equipment, printers, cellular telephones, radar equipment and medical devices. The company's R&D efforts have provided its customers with highly engineered woven and nonwoven solutions for diverse markets and applications.
