eWarna eyes global textile industry with software

The Star, Jul 2004

Online colour collaboration solutions house eWarna will integrate GretagMacbeth NetProfiler into its LabWorks Pro and XMatch applications for re-sale to the global textile and apparel industry.

Under an agreement with Switzerland-based GretagMacbeth, eWarna will market NetProfiler as a standalone instrument management software. Given the growing needs to ensure colour accuracy in the textile and apparel industry, NetProfiler enables organisations to manage the quality of their supply chain's global network of spectrophotometers through a universal colour measurement standard, said Richard Lawn, CEO of eWarna.

By communicating the same virtual standards across the extended supply chain, users can improve instrument quality, uptime and reliability significantly while monitoring the overall health of their colour network.

"It is a well-accepted principle in the industry that even the best spectrophotometers experience drift and profiling is needed," said Lawn. NetProfiler solves this problem by removing instrumental drift as a variable in colour measurement, making colour communication more accurate and effective.

In a separate development, eWarna has entered into a partnership with China's largest industry-specific business-to-business website operator, Hangzhou Hi2000 Infotech Co Ltd, to market its services to enterprises in that country.

Under the terms of the partnership, eWarna's XDyes and XShades software applications would be marketed exclusively    through    Hangzhou Hi2000's China Chemical Network and China Textile Network, eWarna said in a statement.

China Chemical Network has a more than 70% share of China's chemical and chemical-related industries with more than 8,000 corporate clients and 55,000 subscribers. China Textile Network represents 50% of the textile industries in that country.
