Reseller agreement

International Dyer, Sep 2004

GretagMacbeth and eWarna have teamed up to distribute the GretagMacbeth NetProfiler Internet-based colour measurement application to the global textile and apparel industry. The agreement will allow eWarna to embed the NetProfiler application in their existing Internet-based XMatch and LabWorks Pro colour collaboration solutions. In addition, eWarna will distribute NetProfiler as a stand-alone application.

Introduced two years ago, NetProfiler enables remote calibration and monitoring of spectrophotometers via the Internet. GretagMacbeth states that as supply chains proliferate, especially in the textile and apparel industry, there is a growing need to improve colour accuracy of the final product. NetProfiler enables a universal colour measurement standard for most spectrophotometer brands to ensure colour consistency throughout globally dispersed enterprises and their supply chains.

According to Richard Lawn, eWarna president and CEO, "NetProfiler complements our XMatch and LabWorks Pro Internet-based colour collaboration solutions. It is a well-accepted principle in the industry that even the best spectrophotometers experience drift and profiling is needed. NetProfiler solves this problem by removing instrumental drift as a variable in color measurement, making colour communication more accurate and effective."

In addition to accuracy, the speed and convenience of Internet-based colour control is integral to helping the cost-competitive textile and apparel industry optimise its globally dispersed supply chain. Both companies have been developing Internet-based color control and communication products to help industries leverage their supply chains to meet aggressive cost; and speed-to-market goals.

NetProfiler is part of the Communication component of the GretagMacbeth Enterprise Color Management (ECM) program, a comprehensive program that increases speed-to-market through effective supply chain colour management. The other three components include: ECM Measurement and Control that focus on the more conventional spectrophotometers, lighting and software for measuring and controlling color, while ECM Compliance includes supplier audits and managed services for supply chain colour management.
